GOODworks: Memphis Zoo -connecting the community to wildlife

We recently went on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Memphis Zoo, where we were guided by Matt Thompson, Director of Animal Programs and his team as they discussed the conservation and preservation efforts going on here in the Bluff City.

The Memphis Zoo preserves wildlife through education, conservation and research. Aware that the zoo of tomorrow begins today, their staff and volunteers provide a naturalistic and enriching sanctuary for their animals like the Zambezi River Camp, a 200,000 gallon waterway and land filled with hippos, nile crocodiles, lesser flamingos, okapi, patas monkeys, various fish and African birds.
