Radio Show: Peer Power Foundation

Peer Power is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization innovating the public education system by inspiring and empowering youth to take control of their academic achievement. A successful entrepreneur and dedicated
philanthropist, East High School graduate Charlie McVean founded the program in December 2004 to address the poor performance of Memphis's public schools. Combining an incentive-based compensation model with the influential effects of peer groups, he launched his unique student-to-student tutoring method at East. The program was an immediate success and swiftly evolved into Peer Power.

BRX19 - On November 2, 2019, Big River Crossing Half Marathon + 5K benefiting Peer Power will present its third annual race making the interstate trek across the Mississippi River's longest public pedestrian bridge.

We are excited about our expansion into two more high schools bringing our total to 5 which impacts 5000 high school students and nearly 100 teachers each day.
