Radio Show: East Arkansas Youth Services, Inc.

East Arkansas Youth Services (EAYS) is a community based, private, non-profit organization that provides positive alternatives to institutionalization for children who are involved or at risk of becoming involved with the juvenile justice system. Nonresidential services are offered to male and female, 8 up to 18 years of age, to at-risk and delinquent youth. Residential services are provided to males and females of the same age range.

Our clients are primarily youth who have gotten into trouble either at school or in the community and sometimes are involved with law enforcement or the juvenile court system. Some of these young people are having family conflicts, have runaway from home or have been victims of abuse.

Our approach to working with these youth and their families is basically one of intervention. We use trained professional staff members to get involved in their situations to provide guidance and support for the youth and their families.

Some situations are more advanced than others and require a more intense intervention and that is why some youth come to our residential group home in Marion while others can be provided with services at home in the seven counties that we cover.

Most of our funding comes from government grants and contracts which are very limited so we welcome your tax-deductible donations.
